Depending on the size of the area, the treatment may be completed in as little as 30 minutes to one hour.

As a stand-alone procedure for acne, acne scars, and other skin conditions, we suggest the following number of sessions:

• Active Acne: 4-6 treatments spaced 2-3 weeks

• Acne Scarring: 4-8 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks

• Skin Rejuvenation: 4-6 spaced 2-3 weeks

• Coagulation of soft tissue: 2-4 treatments spaced 1-4 months

Clearskin Laser does not require downtime as it is a non-ablative. Clients may have some mild redness or swelling in the treated area, which can last for a few hours. Redness can be covered with make-up if needed.

• Minimise sun exposure for three to four weeks before to your session.

• A month before to treatment, use a sunscreen with a high.

• Two weeks prior to the session, sun activators and chemical self-tanning creams must be discontinued.

• If you have a beard please note: the area to be treated should be ideally shaved the day before the treatment session. Please note that we will charge you a fee of R50-R200 if you have not shaved. Alternatively we will need to reschedule your booking.

• If you will experience a post-treatment skin irritation, you must protect your skin with sun block and avoid any sun exposure that, without protection, could lead to the development of a post-treatment pigmentation

• Use products that will enhance your laser treatment that will be recommended by your practitioner

• Do not scratch the skin treated, if scabs form these must not be picked, or secondary infection is possible

• The use of cold compresses may be recommended

• No exercise for 12 hours

• For up to 7 days, no heat or heat treatments to the treated area

• No use of sun beds for 28 days

• Not observing the guidelines especially related to sun exposure may lead to a transient but long-lasting hypo/hyperpigmentation that may last on the average 3 months.

• On sensitive areas, oedema may develop but will remain no longer than 2 days.

• Some spots may lead to a purpura that will remain 3-5 days after the session. It will then be very important neither to rub the skin nor to expose it to the sun.

• Active acne may lead to swelling followed by redness, which may diminish within a few days. A favourable response would be for the acne lesion to dry up within two weeks.

• Skin Lesions, the lesion will go darker before it goes lighter. Within two to three weeks of treatment, the lesion will either begin to scab and fall off, or the skin will absorb the pieces. Importantly, you should not exfoliate at home.

• It is possible for Acne Scarring to develop swelling followed by redness that subsides within a few days.
