All varieties of skin are treatable. Chemical Peels are not harmful or dangerous when administered by established standards.

Although chemical peels are often applied to the face, any location may be treated.

Depending on the treatment, they might last between 30 and 60 minutes.

Some chemical peels are painless, causing a slight tingling and itchiness during application. Other peels are virtually painless, with minor skin irritation immediately after application. Other peels impart a brief, intense heat and sting to the skin. Any soreness felt is brief and disappears within a minute or two.

Combining a chemical peel with microneedling is highly recommended and has several advantages. However, owing to the strength of both of these treatments, we highly recommend that you wait 2 to 4 weeks between them to enable your skin to recover.

A Chemical Peel is not a one-time treatment. A qualified therapist will do a brief skin consultation to establish the number of chemical peels required to get the desired results.

We advise a series of four to six peels for best results. On average, our clients see us every 3 to 4 weeks until they obtain their desired results.

• Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure.

• Avoid laser/IPL/skin resurfacing treatments.

• Use daily broad-spectrum sunscreen.

• Stop active topical products 3 days before the peel:

1. Retinoids (Vit A)

2. Home exfoliators – AHA / Alpha Hydroxy Acids and BHA / Beta Hydroxy Acids

• Severity of peel impacts recovery period

• Possible skin reactions include stinging, redness, tightness, oedema, and sensitivity

• Temporary darkening may occur

• New skin may be more sun-sensitive

• Expect noticeable skin changes between days 2-7

• Skin shedding varies among peels

• Microscopic peeling may occur, while visible peeling and dry flaking may occur

• Recovery period typically lasts 3--7 days

Post-Pel Procedure Care Guidelines

• Sun protection is crucial to prevent post-treatment skin irritation

• Wash twice a day with gentle cleanser and apply barrier repair cream

• Avoid picking or pulling skin to prevent hyperpigmentation/scarring

• Avoid waxing, exfoliating, chemical peels, IPL, laser, skin resurfacing/needling treatments on treatment area

• Re-apply makeup the following day post-peel

• Avoid active ingredients like Retinol for 7 days post-procedure

• Self-tanner use is not recommended after a chemical peel
